  • The Limboos
    8 November 21:00 - 8 November 23:30
    C/ Barceló 11, 28004 Madrid, Madrid
The Limboos present in Madrid their new album "Baía" (Penniman Records), will be on Friday, November 8 at the Teatro Barceló. Five years have passed since The Limboos appeared on the scene with his particular 'Exotic Rhythm & Blues'. At this time they have not stopped turning throughout the peninsula, expanding their horizons to countries such as France, Germany or Belgium, in addition to growing and maturing as a band along this path. The culmination of this evolution is found in Baía (Penniman Records, 2019), his third album. Faced with such a novelty, one can only surrender to the evidence: The Limboos live in their own league. Gone are the days when it was necessary to classify them as 'retro' or 'vintage'. In Baía the borders disappear. The band's search goes beyond the path that separates Chicago and Santiago from Cuba. A good example of this is his first advance Where Did She Go? Pure energy in the form of a song made to be danced until exhausted in its hypnotic networks. There is no doubt that The Limboos's musical limits only depend on them. Looking back, he is worthy of admiring how cool Space Mambo still sounds (Penniman Records, 2014); and how they doubled the bet with Limbootica! (Penniman Records, 2017), his second album, in which they developed and strengthened the 'limbo sound'. It seems incredible that they have done it again. 'Baía' is called to be the record that consecrates them as one of the great bands of today. Throughout the eleven songs that compose it, The Limboos stir the ingredients of its sound, erasing the stylistic borders in which some have tended to typecast them. In their new work - produced by Mike Mariconda and with 100% of their own songs - they give us a new class lesson, of sweaty elegance. Along the way, they teach us that within this rotten postmodern world, there is another, a limbootic territory in which those who keep the secrets of good music live and where everything is real, hot and exciting. Today is your lucky day: you can listen to Baía, the new of The Limboos, every day at home, at work, in your car, at your parties. And maybe one day they play not so far from where you live. If that happens, leave everything and run to see them. Then you will see how limbootic voodoo will take hold of you forever. - Friday, November 8. - Madrid. Teatro Barceló. - Early entry: 12 euros + expenses. - Ticket office: 16 euros. - Door opening: 8:30 p.m. - Start: 9:00 p.m. - Tickets now on sale at Eventbrite - Children policy: Children must access accompanied by an adult.
